The Circus is in Town

The whole idea stemmed from how to custom-decorate a free cake from the store (you get a free 1st birthday cake at Safeway). Why not decorate animal-shaped cookies, put on candy sticks, and make a merry-go-round? And so the circus theme was born!

Costumes:
The “Lion Kian” costume was a Halloween costume purchase, as was the clown outfit and wig. I did already own the ‘fake shoes’ socks. Doug’s cool jacket was a donation from my Dad--it was his old band jacket from the 1950s, and the top hat purchased earlier for a Mardi Gras party!

Clown decorations
Primary color streamers and balloons

Food:
Corn dogs
Caramel apples
Popcorn
Carousel cake
Clown ice creams

Activities:
Face Painting
Dress-up Photo shoot (lots of fun accessories to choose from)
Decorate the Carousel Cookies for the Cake
