Jessie's Roundup (Toy Story / Cowgirl theme)

Jessie from Toy Story springboarded into a great cowboy/cowgirl party complete with a real hay bale!

Invitations:
I found a toy story graphic arts program on clearance at the local office supply store, which had lots of clip-art and the ability to make invitations. Though I typically make my own anyway, this offered spiffy new backgrounds and fonts and was fun to use. I imported a picture of Ashlyn in her costume, though, for personalization.
Costumes:
This was our family Halloween costume, mostly altered from thrift store finds. We turned another family member into the prospector with suspenders, bandana, hat, and shoes on his knees (ok, so I cheated in this photo and photoshopped out his lower legs! )

We asked guests to come in cowgirl or cowboy attire. We furnished them with cowboy hats they got to decorate themselves with stickers, jewels, and glitter glue (Oriental Trading).

Decorations:
Round Up Photo Wall: boot & wheel decor, red craft paper available by the yard (both Wishing well), 1 yard cow fabric, a hand-painted Jessie on posterboard, and a hay bale (someone had several on their front yard for Halloween, and after Halloween was over I asked if I could have one)
Old Western streamers (wishing well)
Toy Story toys, books, pictures
Toy Story Sign (made from Toy Story Graphics software)
Red and white balloons and streamers

Food:
Jessie’s Yodelemonade
Prospector Pizzas (Bagel bite Pizzas)
Woody’s BBQ Wings (chicken wings)
Jessie cake (courtesy Britta Peterson)
Boot beer floats (More popular than cake! Served in boot-shaped glasses I found at a garage sale, and fun ‘gun’ stirrers from Wishing Well)

Activities:
Decorate your own cowboy hat (Oriental Trading)
Peanut Round up (scatter peanuts around the yard and watch the kids go nuts finding them all!)
Customizing Cowboy Cookies (horses, guitars, stars)
Jessie’s Roundup (Musical chairs to ‘Woody’s Roundup’)
