Theme Party Costume

I wanted another Murder Mystery Party for my 35th birthday, so a friend held for me an Old West Murder Mystery Party (complete with homemade Saloon doors!).

To be Bibi Gunn, the brothel Madam, I took my old French Maid costume and threw it on top of a skirt I cannibalized from an ugly prom dress from a thrift store ($3). Grab a feather boa from Wishing Well, a feather on a hair comb, and fish net stockings and boom. I’m a saloon girl!

For Doug to become Doc Mallard, a drunken country MD, I found the perfect thrift store suit, vest, shirt, and real bowtie (I think the tie cost more than the suit). He borrowed the hat, bag, and fake glasses from Britta Peterson.

The saddest thing is that I also found a vintage camera case that would pass as a medical bag at a garage sale ($1), old bottles ($.25-$.50 each), and an *authentic* stethescope from 1901 (on e-bay for $7)....and then forgot to bring them all to the party!
